The web site was compiled by Tim Appleton who has doctorates in cell biology, is an ordained Anglican Priest, and has been an independent Fertility Counsellor working with several clinics in the UK . He has served on several ethics committees. The tone of the site therefore reflects his diverse experience in the field or Assisted Reproductive Technology - an experience which began in 1982 when he became invited by Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards to form a counselling strategy for Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge, UK - the world's first IVF clinic.
